Adventure doesn’t have to be extreme to matter
Two Day Escape is an Australian motorcycle touring, adventure riding, 4WD and weekend escape platform built around a simple idea: you do not need months away, extreme terrain or expensive equipment to have a worthwhile adventure. The focus is on realistic trips, practical gear, honest lessons and the places you can reach when you simply have a weekend and want to get away.
There is no shortage of content showing expert riders crossing deserts, heavily modified 4WDs tackling extreme tracks, or travellers spending months on the road. That is not what Two Day Escape is trying to be. Most people have work, families, responsibilities and limited time. Their adventures happen over a weekend, a day trip, or occasionally a few days away. Two Day Escape is about making those trips easier to plan, more enjoyable and more achievable. The adventure does not need to be extreme to be memorable. Two Day Escape is built around first-hand experience. Where possible, guides and recommendations are based on places we have visited, products we have used, equipment we have fitted and problems we have had to solve ourselves. Manufacturer specifications and claims may be included where useful, but they are identified separately from our own observations. We do not pretend every product is perfect or that every piece of equipment is essential. The objective is to help readers understand what something is actually like to own, use or install so they can make a better decision for themselves. Two Day Escape may use affiliate links and may also work with selected manufacturers, distributors and retailers. Those relationships help support the cost of producing the website, videos, trips and future content. But the recommendation comes first. Positive recommendations should mean something. Motorcycles have been part of Nick’s life for decades, but Two Day Escape is also documenting a new chapter. After years focused primarily on road riding and sports touring, the current Suzuki V-Strom 650XT project follows the transition into adventure touring and light off-road riding. The 4WD side follows the same philosophy, sharing practical experience from weekend trips on Australian beaches and tracks.
