Hampton State Forest is located west of the Blue Mountains and is made up of pine plantations and native bush. It has a network of easy forestry roads that are suitable for a relaxed 4WD drive. The forest includes the Millionth Acre picnic area, which was set up to mark a milestone in Australia’s pine planting history. It’s also close to Jenolan Caves, making it a good option for a simple day trip combining a drive and a stop at the caves.
